Shrink Wrapped Human

a woman looking through a window with bubbles on it

Every autumn, at the marina, they cover boats with tarps or shrink wrap, for winter storage. When I was being prepped for an angiogram, these were my thoughts. Shrink Wrapped Human Have you ever been shrink wrapped, without the shrink?Preparing for a procedure, I was covered with a plastic or paper tarp,From which a sheer plastic lining was being removed. My arm was similarly, beautifully, covered in blue. I didn’t knowRead More

I’m Grateful For

white and red happy birthday signage

I’m grateful for—    Family, though some    I seldom see. I’m grateful for—    Every day    with my friends. I’m grateful for—    My health    even with its problems. I’m grateful for—    Good doctors    and medical care. I’m grateful for—    Writers and Quilters groups    where creativity is welcome. I’m grateful for—    My church    where I feel welcome. I’m grateful for—    For food and shelter    Lots of people don’t have it. I’m grateful for—    Living in the USA    even though it is becoming scary.  I’m grateful —    It’s ONLY a year    beforeRead More

Things I’m Thankful For

brown and white wooden arrow sign

Gratitude I’m thankful for:    Every breath taken    and each day of life.    We must never be mistaken    and take life for granted. I am thankful for:    My immediate and extended family    without them I’d be lost    To help each other is what God intended.    I love them each and everyone. I am thankful for:    The various medical personnel    and their knowledge in many fields of endeavor.    They all strive to make and keep us well,    We must co-operate and try to help.Read More

The Moth

purple and yellow butterfly on brown wooden wall

The moth is attracted to the bright, colorful neon sign.It flits around hoping to find sustenance there. The sign offers nothing, just remains stationary. This really isn’t quite fair. The moth becomes full of anger,Wishing it could become a wormThen at least it coould get sustenanceFrom the soil, through which it would squirm.
